As per National Crime Records Bureau Data (2011), road accident deaths in India account for the highest amongst unnatural deaths with over 35% of total causes of deaths. Over speeding causes the maximum accidents. Thus the solution lies in controlling over speeding of transport vehicles thereby inducing discipline amongst drivers through the use of technology. Speed Governors is such a device that restricts the maximum speed of a vehicle to a preset limit.

Speed Governor consists of three basic components:

- Electronic Control Unit (ECU): The Brain of SG regulates the fuel flow to the engine by controlling the Solenoid valve.

- Fuel Control Valve / Actuator: Regulates the fuel flow to the engine based on the vehicle speed.

- Speed Sensor: Fitted on the Vehicle Gearbox. Measures the Vehicle speed and transmits to the ECU.

Sebagai per Kejahatan Rekaman data Biro Nasional (2011), kematian kecelakaan di jalan di India menjelaskan tertinggi di antara kematian tidak wajar dengan lebih dari 35% dari total penyebab kematian. Lebih ngebut menyebabkan kecelakaan maksimal. Jadi solusinya terletak dalam mengendalikan lebih ngebut kendaraan transportasi sehingga mendorong disiplin di antara driver melalui penggunaan teknologi. Kecepatan Gubernur adalah suatu perangkat yang membatasi kecepatan maksimum kendaraan untuk batas yang telah ditetapkan.

Gubernur kecepatan terdiri dari tiga komponen dasar:

- Electronic Control Unit (ECU): Otak dari SG mengatur aliran bahan bakar ke mesin dengan mengontrol katup Solenoid.

- Fuel Control Valve / Actuator: Mengatur aliran bahan bakar ke mesin berdasarkan kecepatan kendaraan.

- Sensor Kecepatan: Dilengkapi pada Kendaraan Gearbox. Mengukur kecepatan kendaraan dan mengirimkan ke ECU.
